1981 富山県出生
1997〜 独学で Webデザインとプログラミングを始める
1999〜 Webデザイナー／DTPオペレーター（株式会社 国和システム）に従事
2002〜 プログラマー／システムエンジニアとして基幹システムの開発に従事
2005～ フリーランスに転向 - Webデザイン／グラフィックデザイン（フォトコラージュ）／インタラクティブムービーの制作を手掛ける

Masaki Hirokawa stands out as a notable Japanese graphic artist, renowned for his photomontage artistry. His works, which have garnered international acclaim through global exhibitions and a plethora of design awards, frequently feature in leading art annuals and graphic design magazines.
Personal History:
1981: Born in Toyama, Japan.
1997: Began self-study in web design and programming.
1999: Commenced professional career as a web designer/DTP operator.
2002: Developed mission-critical systems as a programmer/system engineer.
2005: Transitioned to freelance work, engaging in web design, programming, graphics, and interactive movies.
2006/08: Presented artworks and interactive movies at the J-Passion Vol.1 exhibition at the PH Gallery in New York.
2006/11: Awarded for Excellence in the Web Screensaver Category at the MTV SO-ZO Competition.

Influences:
Since 1997, at the age of 16, my fascination with the internet ignited a journey into web design. This digital realm allowed me to forge connections with a myriad of professionals, from designers and programmers to artists, fostering an expansive knowledge across various disciplines.
My journey led me to interactive movie production, game development, and app creation until 2019, when I pivoted to producing graphic art. Despite a longstanding passion for art, my career had predominantly aligned with intensive freelance work in unrelated sectors.
A pivotal moment occurred in late 2019, under the skies of Tokyo's Kichijoji Station, where I witnessed an enigmatic ring of light. This experience, felt as a profound, non-verbal directive, oddly resonated with me as if it were in Latin. Since then, I've been devoted to creating a plethora of graphic works, a process for which I'm immensely thankful.
Artists I Admire:
The liberated life and work of painter Leonor Fini deeply resonate with me, as does the aesthetic and structural beauty in the creations of Hans Bellmer, an engineer by training. These influences were introduced to me by Tatsuhiko Shibusawa, whose interpretations of often controversial French literature significantly shaped my formative years.
The most pivotal influence, however, comes from a mentor I met online at 17. They instilled in me the belief that art is a universal, natural form of communication, accessible and intrinsic to everyone.
Future Aspirations and Vision:
My artistic aspirations are deeply intertwined with my interest in surplus dimensions, a fascination stemming from my spiritual inclinations and avid exploration of general relativity, quantum mechanics, and causal set theory. This pursuit further deepened my engagement with Jodo Shinshu Otani-ha, a faith held dear by my grandparents.
My work seeks to explore and articulate these surplus dimensions, aiming to reconcile the sacred with the secular and mend the fragile bond between humanity and nature. Employing visual storytelling, I meld symbols of nature, human philosophical constructs, and intricate scientific theories, striving to bridge the inner sanctity with the outer, multifaceted reality.
In essence, my creations serve as a conduit, aiming to unify these disparate realms and offer viewers a pathway to connect with deeper aspects of themselves and the cosmos.
