A horizon, once reached, does not vanish — it lingers as light within those who stood before it.
A Beautiful Horizon has drawn to a close, and I write now with a full and grateful heart.
To everyone who came to stand before these works, within the halls of the European Museum of Modern Art — thank you. Your presence gave this exhibition its breath and its meaning.
To RFA Projects, who held this vast and irreplaceable gathering together with such grace and care — my deepest gratitude. None of its beauty would have come to be without you.
To have taken part from Japan, among such extraordinary artists drawn from across the world, is something I will carry with quiet and lasting pride. I receive it with humility, and with all my heart, I give thanks.
地平線は、ひとたび辿り着いたなら消えてしまうのではなく、その前に立った者の裡（うち）に、光となって留まり続けます。
バルセロナにて開催された『A Beautiful Horizon』は、盛況のうちに幕を閉じました。今、感謝の念に満たされながら、この筆を執っております。
欧州近代美術館（MEAM）の会場まで足をお運びくださり、作品の前に立ってくださった全ての方々へ — 心より御礼申し上げます。皆さまのご来場こそが、この展覧会に息吹と意味を与えてくださいました。

Curatorial Statement / キュラトリアル・ステートメント
『A Beautiful Horizon』は、24 名の現代アーティストが、ヴィジョン、距離、そして可能性をめぐって共同で思索する展覧会です。空間的であると同時に概念的な提案として構想された本展は、「地平線」を、空と大地を隔てる一本の線としてのみならず、ひとつの「閾（しきい）」として捉えます。それは、投影と欲望、そして変容が生起する場でもあります。
不確実性と加速に彩られたこの時代にあって、地平線は「方向づけ」の比喩となり、私たちに問いかけます――私たちは何に向かって進むのか。手の届く少し先に、何が残り続けるのか。現在が不安定に感じられるとき、私たちはどのように未来を思い描けるのか。本展に集うアーティストたちは、絵画、彫刻、インスタレーション、ミクストメディアといった多様な実践を通して、これらの問いに応答します。個人的でありながら互いに連なり合う視点として、美しさ、脆さ、そして再生を語り直していきます。
単一の物語を提示するのではなく、『A Beautiful Horizon』は、複数の立場が「星座」のように連なり合う場として展開します。ある作品は生態系や社会の現実に向き合い、別の作品は内面へと分け入り、親密さや記憶、知覚を探ります。それらが響き合うとき、地平線は「能動的な空間」として立ち現れます――文化的な枠組み、政治的な状況、そして内なる風景によって形づくられる空間です。それは外側であると同時に内側でもあり、集合的であると同時に個人的でもあります。
会場は、バルセロナの European Museum of Modern Art（MEAM）です。交換と移動、幾層にも重なる歴史によって形づくられてきた都市バルセロナにおいて、本展は現代の芸術的な声を、「伝統」と「実験」をめぐるより大きな対話のなかへと位置づけます。美術館という場は、本展に通底するひとつの緊張関係を際立たせます――すなわち、現代のアーティストたちが遺産（ヘリテージ）とどう向き合いながら、新たな表現の形を思い描くのか、という問いです。
そして『A Beautiful Horizon』は、終着点ではなく、ひとつの「招待」です。ここで差し出される美は、現実からの逃避ではなく、「まなざし」を向けるという行為として捉えられます。地平線は固定されたものではなく、私たちが動き、学び、創造するにつれて移ろいゆくもの――今日、遠くに見えていたものが、明日には足元の地面になっているかもしれません。
本展は、分かち合われたひとつの身振りとして立ち上がります。24 名のアーティスト、いくつもの土地、そしてひとつの地平線――開かれ、たえず展開し、いまなお「生成」の途上にある地平線です。

Beings who possess a mix of sacred and demonic blood are often bestowed with many divine trials. In this world, there is neither good nor evil, neither right nor wrong; it is the harmonious balance of yin and yang that sustains the universe. Yet humans, driven by their own righteousness and beliefs, take up arms and wage war against each other—a sorrowful reality beyond reason, rooted in age-old cultures and traditions.
If we continue to struggle with conflicting forces and polarities within ourselves, it is nothing but a divine challenge we must overcome. When opposing natures within us unite and harmonize, our inner turmoil will cease, and conflict will disappear from the world.
聖と魔の混合した血を持つ存在には、神からの試練が多く齎されます。この世に善悪も正邪もなく、陰と陽の力がお互いに均衡を保ち合うことで宇宙は存続しています。しかし人間は己の正義や信仰のために、武器を手に取り争い合います。誠に哀しいことながら、それは仕方のないことであり、そこに理屈が介入する余地はなく、在るのはただ何世紀も続く文化と伝統なのです。
もし己の中に相反する力と作用があり、いわゆる両極性反応に葛藤し続けるならば、それは克服すべき神からの課題に他なりません。正反対の性質を持つもの同士が融合し調和し得れば、己の中の苦悩も消え、世界からも争いはなくなるでしょう。

"Causal Sets" draws inspiration from Eastern mysticism and the theory of causal sets—a conceptual bridge between quantum mechanics and general relativity. The artwork explores the simultaneity of cause and effect, illustrating how events of the past, present, and future unfold in an instant, challenging the continuity of time. Each being is depicted as isolated within its own cell, yet interconnected through inevitable bonds of fate that shape our collective existence.
The piece conveys a profound message: every individual is unique and indispensable, contributing irrevocably to the vast changes in the world. Through the metaphor of a funeral procession stretching endlessly through a sea of stars, it invites reflection on the ephemeral nature of existence and the importance of cherishing each moment and connection in our transient world.
この作品「葬列」は、東洋の神秘思想と、量子力学と一般相対性理論をつなぐ概念的な架け橋である因果集合理論からインスピレーションを得ています。原因と結果の同時性を探求し、過去・現在・未来の出来事が一瞬のうちに展開され、時間の連続性の概念に挑戦しています。各存在はセルの中で孤立しているように描かれていますが、避けられない運命の絆によって互いに結ばれ、私たちの集合的な存在を形作っています。
この作品は「すべての個体が唯一無二で不可欠であり、世界の大きな変化に不可逆的に寄与している」というメッセージを伝えています。星々の海を果てしなく続く比喩的な葬列を通じて、存在の儚さと、この移ろいやすい世界で一瞬一瞬やご縁を大切にすることの重要性を問いかけています。
