Centro Internazionale di Fotografia
Palermo, Italy

This exhibition take shape from the current edition of the book, dedicated to photographers from all over the world selected as participants of the project. For this reason was chosen the most influent International Center of Photography.
Founded by Letizia Battaglia, a historic Palermo photojournalist, the International Center of Photography offers photographic exhibitions and video projections of important national and international artists.
A multifunctional space of 600 square meters, divided into several exhibition rooms which, in addition to exhibitions, host workshops, projects and events that follow one another at a fast pace, involving protagonists of the national and international scene.
The Center therefore proposes itself as a dynamic cultural reality, in which different experiences and knowledge can act in harmony, in which different artistic disciplines can relate to the photographic action, such as poetry, music, dance, theater and the visual arts.

In this artwork, the white dove symbolizes a divine revelation from a higher dimension. Each person is born onto this earth with a unique purpose and an important role to play. Discovering and fulfilling that purpose can bring great joy and fulfillment in life. Even in times of despair, hopelessness can hold its own meaning, as there is always God's love and the promise of salvation and guidance for all.

Currently, it is very difficult to predict the end point of this complex world situation, and at times like this, a multidimensional interpretation may be necessary. In other words, it is important to think about everyone, not just oneself.
In computer programming, there is such a thing as a multidimensional array; for example, a description such as xyz[1][3][5] is called a three-dimensional array, and a description such as {x:1, y:3, z:5} is called an associative array. At first, even two-dimensional arrays can be confusing, but the interesting thing about them is that once you understand them, they are easy to use from then on. In a three-dimensional array, associate a cube and map the variables and constants in it in mind. Then, from the four-dimensional array onward, the cube is duplicated, and eventually they are combined to form a cube again, and the rest of the image becomes an endless nested structure, which is easy to understand.
However, as the world enters a major turning point that occurs once in a millennium, I wondered if this "cube" interpretation was really sufficient. In other words, I thought that as long as we are stuck in the framework of the individual as an individual and feel a separation between oneself and others, we will not be able to reach a higher
understanding. Modern science advocates that if there is an extra dimension, it is in the microscopic world, but is this really true? In the " Metaphor of the Cave" proposed by the ancient Greek philosopher Plato, it is mentioned that this world is a shadow of the world of truth (Idea).
Anyway, I feel that the present is a test to see if humanity can advance to the next stage. It feels as if we are being tested to see if we can care for others as much as we care for oneself.
Also, is what we call the "heart" really the true heart? Isn't it just a cage called "spirit" that functions to protect the ego?
We are currently in a complicated situation where we are in a stage of "separation," where we wear masks and distance ourselves from others, and at the same time, the enclosed space is being opened up. However, when a space is closed, it is opened widely, and when it is separated, it is sure to be combined eventually.
Just looking at the number of people lost around the world that is announced every day, it is truly heartbreaking. However, I believe that all of this is a pandemic that is happening in order to change the world for the better, and that the day will come when we can look back at the present and realize that all of this was an important process.
Love is always beyond ego.

Glance / 視線
Aug 2020 / 90 x 145 cm (Height x Width)

This artwork was created in an attempt to embody the depths of the human psyche within society. Within the eyes of every person resides a soul, as well as the ability to perceive and distinguish the past and present lives of all people. All things, all matters, are not "known," but in fact, "remembered."
There is either a natural order, or a defiance of fate and order, in the encounters which occur between people. Even if the person in question turns out to be a good match for you in this life, such a relationship can turn out to be good or bad depending on the timing of it. Just as two people who appear at first glance to be good friends may be maneuvering constantly against one another in the subconscious world, in order to modulate their destinies, relationships will change according to time and circumstances, as each party will do what it can in order to place its own respective soul on a path toward greater learning.
The many eyes depicted in this artwork may perhaps invoke fear in people, or perhaps they may cause one to experience feelings of love. No matter what impression they make, the eyes are the mirror of the soul; the here and now exists because of God's love and design, and all things exist in order to fulfill the greater purpose of developing the soul.

A Regenerated World / 新世界
May 2020 / 72 x 117 cm (Height x Width)

This artwork was created in the hope for a new, arriving age. The world is transforming its expressions at a furious pace as it attempts to attain evolution, and in that process, in that result, we can glimpse various aspects, or facets. Toward this new era, we may feel anxiety, bewilderment, anticipation, and peace. All of those emotions are imbued within this two-dimensional design.

Death is creation, reunion with God, and the mystery of the twinkling of an eye. When the soul returns to the original fountain of life with its memories, it will mix with the many memories of various beings and be born again as a drop of water. At that time, the former personality will be gone, and it will become a piece of someone else's soul, whose name will be unknown. Thousands, tens, or hundreds of millions of years from now, when all reincarnations are complete, we will all be welcomed equally into the great light. There will be no loneliness and no suffering. I still believe that if we just keep moving forward silently, even in difficult times, we will someday reach the nirvana of eternity.

Grounding by Masaki Hirokawa /
Grounding
Sep 2020 / 100 x 145 cm (Height x Width)

The best way to unlock a person's potential is through "grounding. When left unchecked, human consciousness tends to immediately jump to the past or future, but by simply focusing on the "now" and this moment, we can maximize our true potential. Even the concept of time, such as the past or the future, is an illusion, and ultimately there is only the present moment. By focusing all our attention on this moment, we free ourselves from the egoic cage of the mind, which brainwashes us with miscellaneous thoughts. The often-used expression " bringing down God" may suggest a method of returning to one's true self. This work expresses the idea that people are constantly receiving blessings not only from the heavens but also from the earth, and that it is important to be grateful for both.
